同志社大学4回生の時、自動車事故で左下腿を切断し中退。その後、理学療法士の資格を取得する。1992年にフリーの理学療法士となり、自身の介護経験とノウハウを活かし「もう一歩踏み出すための介護セミナー」を開催している。 著書]: 「福辺流 力のいらない介助術」（中央法規）「人生はリハビリテーションだ」（教育史料出版会）
